Terms governing use of the Ground Source Project platform, disclaimers on data accuracy, intellectual property notices, and applicable law.
01 · Operator
Operator
The Ground Source Project (GSP) is operated by Cliche ID, an Indonesian entity. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you (the user) and Cliche ID governing your access to and use of the platform at its published domain.
By accessing the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
02 · Terms
Terms of use
Access to the public map, analytics workspace, and survey tool is provided free of charge. You agree to use the platform only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these terms and applicable Indonesian law.
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, its infrastructure, or data systems.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the application code, database schemas, or API logic beyond what is publicly documented.
- Use automated tools to scrape, mirror, or bulk-extract data from the public interface in a way that degrades service for other users.
- Introduce malicious code, perform denial-of-service attacks, or attempt to exploit vulnerabilities. See Section 7 for responsible disclosure.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when applying for or using a commercial API key.
Cliche ID reserves the right to suspend or terminate access without notice for violations of these terms.
03 · Disclaimer
Disclaimer
The Ground Source Project platform and its outputs are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
Flood data presented on the platform is derived from the GroundSource research dataset (Google / Zenodo) and is subject to the limitations described in our Data Reference & Usage — Accuracy section. It is not suitable as the sole basis for:
- Real-time emergency response or evacuation decisions.
- Regulatory compliance assessments without independent verification.
- Insurance policy underwriting without actuarial review.
- Civil engineering or infrastructure investment without site surveys.
For real-time flood alerts, consult official Indonesian authorities: BPBD (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah) and BMKG (Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika).
04 · Liability
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cliche ID, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to:
- Your use of or inability to use the platform or data.
- Decisions made in reliance on flood data, forecasts, or analytics outputs.
- Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or transmissions.
- Platform downtime, data loss, or service interruptions.
Where liability cannot be excluded by law, Cliche ID's total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) for platform access in the twelve months preceding the claim.
05 · IP
Intellectual property
The following intellectual property rights apply to the Ground Source Project:
- Platform application code: Copyright © 2026 Cliche ID. All rights reserved. The source code is proprietary unless otherwise published with an explicit open source license in the project repository.
- GroundSource dataset: The flood dataset is published under CC BY 4.0 by Google Environmental Intelligence. Attribution is required. See Data Reference & Usage for full terms.
- Map tiles: PMTiles flood layers hosted by the platform are derived from the GroundSource dataset and inherit CC BY 4.0 terms.
- Branding: The "Ground Source Project" name, "GSP" wordmark, and associated logos are trademarks of Cliche ID. Use of these marks in third-party products requires written permission.
- Third-party components: This platform uses open-source libraries including Next.js, React, MapLibre GL, DuckDB, TanStack Query, Zustand, Recharts, and shadcn/ui. Each is subject to its own license terms.
06 · API
API terms
Commercial access to the /api/v1/ endpoints is subject to these additional terms:
- API keys are non-transferable and may not be shared between organisations or embedded in publicly accessible client-side code.
- Cliche ID may modify, deprecate, or remove API endpoints with reasonable advance notice (minimum 30 days except for critical security issues).
- API responses must not be presented as real-time data; all responses reflect the historical GroundSource dataset and any server-side cache state.
- Cliche ID may introduce pricing, quotas, or SLA tiers for API access. Existing API keys will be migrated with at least 60 days' notice of material changes.
- API usage data (see Privacy Policy § 5) is used only for billing, quota enforcement, and abuse monitoring.
07 · Security
Security and responsible disclosure
Cliche ID takes platform security seriously. We apply the following baseline security controls:
- API keys are stored as bcrypt hashes; plaintext keys are never persisted.
- No secrets or credentials are exposed via
NEXT_PUBLIC_environment variables. - All database queries use parameterised inputs; user input is never string-interpolated into SQL.
- Error messages and stack traces are never surfaced to API callers.
- User-facing inputs are validated with Zod schemas at API boundaries.
Responsible disclosure: If you discover a security vulnerability in the Ground Source Project platform, please report it responsibly by contacting Cliche ID directly before public disclosure. We commit to acknowledging valid reports within 5 business days and providing a remediation timeline. We do not pursue legal action against researchers acting in good faith under this policy.
Scope: the production web application and API. Out of scope: third-party services (Vercel infrastructure, Supabase), social engineering, and physical security.
08 · Changes
Changes to these terms
Cliche ID may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date at the top of this page. For commercial API key holders, material changes to API terms will be notified via the registered email address with at least 30 days' advance notice.
Continued use of the platform after the effective date of revised terms constitutes acceptance of the changes.
09 · Law
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Indonesia.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
